The Alouette range was launched in the UK in 1997 and the Canadian company’s 500th Super E® home – using the most commercially successful efficient construction system available in Britain – was completed last year.

Super E® homes represent a major step forward in the sustainable housing sector, employing cutting edge technology to reduce their impact on the environment by minimising the amount of fossil fuels required to heat them.

Each Super E® home must include a minimum number of measures specifically intended to reduce environmental impact. Super E® builders may opt to use recycled insulation materials, wood products engineered to reduce environmental impact, or be “pre-wired” to accept renewable energy systems such as photovoltaics or solar water heating.
